Mr. Ron Waldron has been an amateur astronomer for over 45 years! His knowledge of the night sky comes from his extensive personal observing sessions over the years but also from his 30 years of teaching elementary school students inside the STARLAB portable planetarium.
"Stars in Your Eyes" Starwalk - Have you ever wondered how amateur astronomers know the night sky? Have you ever wanted to make the unfamiliar more familiar? Come to the Registration Tent at the Meadows at 10:00 on Friday night where Ron Waldron will lead a 40 minute binocular star walk outlining the major stars, constellations and naked eye sky objects. He will describe not only the patterns in the sky but will retell some of the mythological stories that connect them. Binoculars are useful for this walk but are not required.
